Tarr, Luther E.
WHITESVILLE -- Luther E. Tarr, 57, of 674 Main Street, died Friday (April 11, 2003) at home, following a lengthy illness.
Born October 17, 1946, in Olean, NY., he was the son of Lloyd and Dorothy Tarr of Galeton, PA., who survives. He attended Galeton area schools. He married the former Mary Sluyter, in Galeton, in 1972, who survives.
Mr. Tarr was employed as a pipefitter for Merrit Construction Co. of Lake Jackson, TX.
Luke enjoyed his Monday night Euchre game and playing spades with his brother and sister-in-law. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and was an avid Steeler fan.
Surviving are two daughters, Tisha Tarr and Christy Waters, both of Whitesville, five grandchildren, two sisters, Patty Adams and Cheryl McCarry, both of Sweeny, TX., a brother Lee Tarr of Mayville, NY. and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Tarr was predeceased by a brother Lloyd Tarr, Jr., of Sweeny.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Howard's Funeral Home, Whitesville. There will be no visitation.
A memorial service will be at the Christian Missionary Alliance Church, Whitesville on Tuesday at 5 p.m. The Reverend Glen Barnes will officiate. Interment will be at the convenience of the family. Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
