Mrs. Ellen Magner, whose death at Elm Valley was recently mentioned, was born in the county Cork, Ireland, in 1814. In 1839 she married John Magner, of the county of Waterford, Ireland, and in 1840 the couple came to the shores of America, settling in the town of Wellsville in 1841, where they have since resided. Mrs. Magner was the mother of twelve children—eight daughters and four sons— eight surviving her. She was grandparent of forty-two children, most of whom were present at the funeral. The six pall bearers were all sons-in-law of the deceased.
