Oil-well Driller Meets Death in Awful Manner.
Bolivar, March 2 (Special)--John Wakeman, an oil well contractor, 30 years old, was instantly killed this morning at a drilling well four miles east of Bolivar. He slipped and fell across the bull-wheel shaft and the cable caught him and whirled him three times about the shaft, almost severing his head.
He leaves a wife and two small children.
Mr. Wakeman was employed in the Andover field last summer, drilling the wells of the V.G. Graves farm in South Andover.
