Cuba, April 20.-Mrs. Mary Smith, for seventy-five years a resident of Clark.sville. south of
of this village, died Mondav morning at nine o'clock at the home of Mrs. W.E. Burr of Clarksville,
following an illness of two weeks.

Mrs. Smith was born in Stonington, Conn., in 1835, a daughter of Mary and Cyrus Pcckham.
In 1853, she was united in marriage to Anson Congdon of Clarksville. Five children were born to
the union, all of whom died early infancy. Mr. Congdon died February 23, 1890. Mrs. Congdon was
united in marriage in 1896 to John Smith of Clarksvillle.

She is survived by one niece, Mrs. Frank Windsor of Cuba, and several grandnieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at the Baptist church in West Clarksville at 2:30 o'clock Wednesday afternoon.
The Rev. Stephen Custard will officiate. Burial will be in West Clarksville cemetery.
