Former Alma Resident dies in Olean Home
Allentown-- Mrs Fanny A. Shields, 82, a recent resident of Alma, died in the Olean Nursing Home, yesterday after a long illness. Services will be at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon in the McLaughlin Funeral Home at Shinglehouse, Pa, with the Rev Millard G. Roberts of Olean officiating. Burial will be in the family plot in Mt. View Cemetery, Olean. Mrs Shields was born June 13, 1868 at Oswayo, Pa, the daughter of Will and Ardell Lockwood Woodard. She taught in the Oswayo Township school for many years prior to her marriage. Later she resided in Olean for more than 30 years and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church there. She lived with her son Clyde Shields of Alma for 3 years until recently. Other survivors include another son Cecil Shields of Duke Center, Pa, one daughter Mrs Ernest Burgmark of Elmira, 11 grand children and 7 great grand children...
