JAMES O. SANFORD
James O. Sanford of Hornell RD 3 was dead on arrival at Bethesda Hospital Monday afternoon (November 15, 1965). He was 71 years old. A native of Bums, he had spent most of his life in that area where he was a farmer. For the past 16 months he has made his home with his son, Robert E. Sanford.
He is survived by his wife, Mertie Sanford; and two sons, Robert E. Sanford of Hornell and Paul Sanford of Hillsdale, Mass., three daughters, Miss.Pearl Sanford of Elmira and Mrs. Donald Reynolds and Mrs. Charles Gray both of Horseheads; two sisters, Mrs. William Marvin of Hornell and Mrs. John Harvey of Swains; a brother, Lloyd D. Sanford of Almond; 17 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
The funeral and services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Bender Funeral Home with burial in Arkport Cemetery.
