Andover, April 28 [1942] – Mrs. Roxie Swain, life-long resident of Andover, died Sunday evening at 6 o’clock at Glover Nursing Home here, after an illness of four years.
She was born September 23, 1858, the daughter of Levi and Lucy Baker Hann of Andover. She ws married October 6, 1877, to Ira S. Kemp of Andover who died in 1919 and she later married Thomas Swain who survives. She was member of the Andover Methodist Church.
Surviving beside her husband are five sons, Archie, Earl, Harry and Mark of Andover and Elmer of Augusta, Ga.; two brothers, Bert Hann of Andover and Emory Hann of Norwich, N.Y.
The body was taken to Mulholland Funeral Home here, where funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. The Rev. Helena Champlin will officiate and burial will be in Valley Brook Cemetery.
