Mahlon Peterson, died May (28) 1909 at the home of his daughter, Mrs. W.H. Traver in Genesee, age 92 years. Buried at Baker Creek. Other children:
Mahlon Jr. of Bolivar, NY; Warren of Mix, Pa; T.H. of E. Emporium; Maurice of Cuba; William of California; Mrs. John Morris of Allentown, NY; Mrs.
Elizabeth Coyle of Cuba; Mrs. Joseph Broshius of Black Creek.
AGED RESIDENT DEAD
Mahlon Peterson, aged 92, for 42 years a resident of Allegany County died of old age at 3:00 Friday a.m. at the home of his daughter, Mrs. W.H. Traver, in
the town of Genesee, where he lived for the past 3 years. He was ill about 2weeks. The funeral was held at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon from the home.
Rev. S.H. Babcock of Little Genesee conducted the service. The body wastaken to Baker Creek, near Coudersport, Pa. for burial.
Deceased was born in N.J. Sept. 9, 1817. The following year with hisparents he removed to Seneca, NY., 6 years later they located at Scio, here
Mr. Peterson resident for 39 years. Then he removed to Baker Creek, PA where he was engaged in farming for 43 years.
In politics Mr. Peterson was a staunch Republican. He voted at the National Election last fall at the age of 91 years. Besides Mrs. Traver, he leaves 8
other children: Mahlon of Bolivar; Warren of Mix Run, Pa; T.H. of East Emporium, Pa; Maurice of Cuba; William of California; Mrs. John Morris of
Allentown, Mrs. Elizabeth Coyle of Cuba; Mrs. Joseph Broshius of Black Creek.
