Obituary for Gerald Cartwright
Gerald W. Cartwright of Madison Hill died unexpectedly at his home Friday night (6/14/1963), apparently following a heart attack. He had observed his 49th birthday Monday.
The son of Darius and Nora Kenyon Cartwright, he was born June 10,1914, at Andover, where he lived until he moved to Wellsville 25 years ago.
Mr. Cartwright was emoployed by Air Preheater Co., and had worked there Friday.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, the local VFW post and Moose Lodge.
He was married May 17, 1935 to Louise Vaughn, who survives. Also surviving are one daughter Mrs. Stanley Bobak of London, England; three grandchildren and three sisters, Mrs Jack Rose of Hornell, Mrs George O'Dell of Andover and Mrs Dorothy Welch, Niagra Falls.
The Rev. Elmer Krentz will conduct a prayer service at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Embser Funeral Home, followed by a funeral service at 2 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Burial will be a Woodlawn Cemetery.
