Obituary: George Henry Davidson

Died at His Home on Broad Street Sunday, February 12 - Funeral at House Wednesday, Burial at Richburg

George Henry Davidson, a resident of Wellsville since August 22, 1921, having moved here from Richburg, where he lived for 19 years, died at his home on Broad street, Sunday morning, at 8 o’clock, February 12th. Mr. Davidson had been in ill health since fall.

The deceased was born July 11, 1852, at Chathum, New Brunswick, and was a son of John Davidson and Margaret Rule Davidson. By occupation he was an oil well driller. He was married to Sarah Schatz, July 3, 1877, and is survived by his widow, five daughters, Mrs. F. E. Wilcox, of Buffalo; Mrs. J. J. Ward, of Bolivar; Mrs. B. F. Philbrick, of Montreal; Mrs. T. S. Conncely, Dallas, Texas; Miss Alice Davidson, a teacher in the Wellsville Jr. High School, and who resides with her parents, and one son, J. H. Davidson, of Olean.

Funeral service will be held at the home 27 North Broad street, Wednesday afternoon, at 1 o’clock, the Rev. E.. A. Mathews officiating. The body will be taken to Richburg for burial.
