Mrs. Sarah D. Ormsby, wife of Daniel O. Ormsby, and daughter of David and Cynthia Satterlee, of Alfred, was married in 1840. Mr. Ormsby was born in Beckett, Berkshire county, Mass., in 1819 and came to Alfred in 1839. He was at one time justice of the peace. During the late war he enlisted in Company B. 179th NY volunteers, and was killed in the battle of Petersburg.
